Women’s Silk Sleep Bottoms: Pants, Palazzo & Shorts
Our collection of wire-free silk bras combines smooth mulberry silk and comfortable silk jersey styles, designed for sleep, working from home and everyday low-impact wear. With no underwire and easy back fastening, they offer gentle support without the pressure of traditional wired bras. Buy them on their own, or pair them with a top from Sleepwear.
Choose by Leg Shape
| Style | How It Wears | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Wide leg | Fluid and generous through the hip and thigh; four of the six styles, including a high-slit palazzo cut as evening wear. | Lounging, and wearing outside the bedroom. |
| Classic sleep pant | Narrower and quieter, layers under a robe without bulk. | Sleeping, and colder rooms. |
| Shorts | Mid-rise, cut short. | Hot sleepers, and anyone who finds a full-length leg twists at night. |
Two Weights, Two Constructions
This collection is evenly split, and it is worth knowing which half you are buying.
- 16 momme, 100% mulberry silk: Three styles. Light and fluid, the airier of the two.
- 19 momme with a little spandex: Three styles at roughly 95% mulberry silk to 5% spandex. Heavier drape, and it gives instead of holding a knee crease.
Both are mulberry silk against the skin. Each product page states its own composition.
Getting the Fit Right
Every waist here is elastic or drawstring, so the waist measurement is forgiving. The leg is not. A wide-leg or palazzo cut is generous through the hip and thigh by design and reads as oversized if you size up out of habit.
Take your hip measurement, match it to the chart on the product page, and take your normal size. Between two sizes, size down on the wide-leg styles and up on the classic sleep pant.
Are They See-Through
It depends on colour and weight rather than on silk as a fabric. Darker colours in the heavier 19 momme are fully opaque; the palest colours in the lighter 16 momme are the ones to think about in direct light. If opacity matters to you, choose a dark colour or the heavier weight. We do not publish an opacity figure, so treat this as guidance rather than a measurement.
Wearing Them Outside the House
Several of these are made for it. The wide-leg pants have side pockets and a mid-rise waist that reads as a trouser, and the high-slit palazzo is styled as evening wear rather than sleepwear. Paired with a plain top and a flat sandal they pass as summer trousers. The classic sleep pant is the one that stays at home. Styling silk pants has more.
Washing, and Whether They Shrink
Hand wash below 35°C with a mild silk detergent. Press and swirl, never rub or wring. Rinse cool, press the water out in a towel, then dry flat or over a rail in the shade — hanging wet silk trousers by the waistband stretches the elastic. One style is tagged machine washable and says so on its page; that does not extend to the others.
Washed this way, silk holds its size. Heat is what shrinks it, so keep it out of hot water and the tumble dryer.
Pick the leg shape first — everything else follows from it.
